Job Summary

The Shipping Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily shipping operations and ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient movement of products to customers and distribution locations. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse associates while demonstrating expertise in logistics, supply chain processes, materials management, and transportation operations. The Shipping Team Lead promotes a safe, productive work environment and supports operational goals through effective coordination, training, and execution of shipping activities.

2nd shift - M-F 3pm-11pm

Pay: $20.00 + Shift Differential

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily shipping, receiving, and material handling operations to ensure accuracy, quality, and productivity standards are met.
- Coordinate the receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Verify quantities, part numbers, shipment destinations, and schedules using various source documents and warehouse management systems.
- Train, mentor, and provide direction to team members on shipping processes, safety procedures, and operational best practices.
- Operate and oversee the use of equipment used for weighing, banding, wrapping, packaging, and shipping products.
- Ensure the safe operation and basic servicing of mechanical, motorized, and electrical warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to meet shipping deadlines and customer requirements.
- Perform and oversee required shipping documentation, inventory transactions, and other specialized clerical duties.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve operational issues while escalating concerns when necessary.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field.
- Previous experience leading, training, or coordinating the work of others in a warehouse environment.
- Basic mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret operational documents, work instructions, and shipping records.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Warehouse and distribution experience.
- Logistics and supply chain experience.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control processes, and shipping software.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from floor.
Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
