JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent is responsible for all health and safety-related activities at the facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures the facility EHS Management Plan meets all health and safety requirements of the Neovia EHS Management Program. This includes the following tasks:

  • Determination of the facility’s health and safety legal compliance obligations
  • Identification of facility health and safety risks
  • Establishment of all required safety processes and procedures
  • Collecting and reporting all required safety metrics and monitoring to ensure targets are met
  • Performing internal compliance audits on safety processes
  • Managing required safety training for facility employees

Responsible for all safety-related activities at the facility level, including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Managing incident/injury reporting
  • Managing all required health and safety recordkeeping and reporting
  • Conducting risk assessments for all facility activities/jobs 
  • Establishing and communicating safe job procedures
  • Maintaining current Safety Data Sheets (SDS’s) for all chemicals used on-site
  • Assisting with ergonomics and industrial hygiene
  • Ensuring proper storage and labeling of all chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Coordinate facility's Emergency Response Plan and Business Continuity

The incumbent will be expected to lead safety meetings, NOS Safety/ Waste walks, and coordinate Safety CI card corrective actions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2-4 years' relevant experience
  • Logistics/warehouse experience
  • Ability to read/write and interpret documents

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Professional accreditation in a safety or environmental field.
  • Six Sigma experience

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
  • Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from floor.
  • Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas.
  • Working knowledge of computerized applications (word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email).
