  • Contributes to the Distributor Applications team to meet customer expectations and SLA targets through best in class support, development & administration practices for customizing Distributor Apps applications.
  • Primarily Independent. Relied upon as a subject matter expert (SME) by colleagues. May assist with training or answering routine and perhaps some non-routine questions.
  • This position is responsible for application business requirements, writing functional specifications, administration and providing Level 1 & 2 application support to meet service level commitments.


  • Takes technical responsibility for several stages of the life cycle for software development or implementation of simple and moderately complex systems covering: investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, implementation and maintenance.
  • Competent to perform all programming, development, and/or system administration assignments without close supervision; more complex assignments may require closer supervision and assistance.
  • Works directly on application/technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions
  • Works independently on complex modules that may be used by one or more programs or systems.
  • Works independently on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components.
  • Under the direction of more senior staff, assists in the development of major system modules and programs based on requirements gathered from system customers.
  • Participates in integrated testing and user acceptance of systems.
  • Assists less senior staff with logic problems and interpretation of specifications.
  • Performs integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased software and hardware solutions.
  • Designs and implements processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support.
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service and tangible outputs. Rely on industry standards, best practices, and qualitative & quantitative data to support and/or refine operations methodologies.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned, including overnight and potential international travel.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, business and relevant work experience.
  • 3 – 7 years of IT experience.
  • 3 – 7 years of experience supporting business applications and/or application administration.
  • At least 3 year of experience implementing business applications.
  • At least 3 years of application software testing experience.
  • At least 3 years customer-facing experience and working closely with business partners.
  • Fully knowledgeable of all infrastructure components and/or current operating environment, programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, testing, debugging and documentation.

Advanced Distributor Application Skills in the following:

  • SAS or
  • Ellipse or
  • BOBJ
  • Structured Development Methodology
  • Design
  • Requirements Gathering
  • Testing Techniques and/or Application Administration (Unix, VMWare, Command line interfaces, scripting, upgrades, infrastructure concepts; SAN, networking, etc.)


  • Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
