Outbound Team Lead 

 

Schedule: 10am - 6pm (Occasional overtime and week weekend work may be required to support operations).

Pay rate: $22.00

 

Job Summary

The Outbound Team Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating daily outbound warehouse operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient shipment of products to customers and distribution locations. This role provides hands-on leadership to warehouse associates, promotes a safe work environment, maintains operational excellence, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures. The Team Lead serves as a key resource for training, coaching, and supporting team members while meeting productivity, quality, and service goals.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Lead, coach, and support warehouse associates in the execution of daily outbound operations.
  • Coordinate workflow and assign tasks to ensure productivity, accuracy, and service level objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor team performance and provide ongoing training, guidance, and feedback.
  • Promote a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment.

 

Shipping & Distribution

  • Oversee the picking, packing, staging, and shipping of outbound orders.
  • Verify quantities, product information, destinations, and shipment schedules using source documents and warehouse systems.
  • Ensure all outbound shipments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, inventory issues, and process challenges.

 

Material Handling & Equipment

  • Lead and perform material handling activities, including receiving, processing, storing, moving, and shipping products and materials.
  • Safely operate and monitor warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, wrapping machines, banding equipment, and other material handling devices.
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical, motorized, and electrical warehouse equipment.
  • Enforce all facility safety requirements and operating procedures.

Inventory & Documentation

  • Complete and review shipping documentation, reports, and operational records.
  • Perform specialized clerical and administrative duties related to warehouse operations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support cycle counts and inventory control activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and operational procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and workflow processes.
  • Assist management with training initiatives, operational projects, and process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years of warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply chain experience required.
  • Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in outbound shipping and warehouse operations preferred.
  • Logistics and supply chain experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret work instructions, shipping documents, and operational reports.
  • Basic mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with warehouse systems, scanners, and related technology is a plus.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
  • Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
  • Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from floor.
  • Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
