JOB SUMMARY

Provides strategic financial direction and advice to the senior management team.  Typically manages all, or several, functions within the department including accounting, quarterly and annual reporting, consolidation, budgeting, and tax.  Accountable to ensure the proper auditing, financial reporting, and taxation compliance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Statements- Directs the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, to ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of operating results. Provides financial analysis, interpretation of variances from budgets and standards, and advice to management.
  • Financial Accounting- Manage all, or most, accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Lead month-end and year-end close process. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Reporting- Assure accurate and timely financial reporting is provided to company leaders in order to support solid business decisions and compliance. This includes external financial reporting, audit reporting, and research of rules.
  • Tax Compliance/Strategy- Manage and comply with all necessary reporting requirements and tax filings including tax compliance, and transactions (VAT, sales tax, property tax).
  • Policy and Procedures- Ensure the provision of sound policy interpretation for governance, risk management, accounting, and tax to ensure the consistent and effective application of corporate policy and practice.
  • Risk Management- Keep the company leaders abreast of material business and/or financial risks and to identify, monitor and mitigate business and financial risks, including assurance over soundness of financial systems and controls to protect the company’s assets.
  • Financial Leadership- Serve as a strategic resource on matters relating to finance, accounting, tax, audit, etc. to management. Provide effective leadership and secure the development of functional capability to ensure that the finance function makes an optimal contribution to the achievement of business objectives in the short and longer-term.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education/Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a CPA certification.
  • Work Experience – 15 to 20 years of proven experience with at least 10 years of managerial experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Knowledge of foreign currency and lease accounting. Experience in public reporting is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
