JOB SUMMARY
- Provides application and technical leadership in the development of detailed system specifications for major business/infrastructure and/or development, integration and implementation projects. Applies systems solutions to business/technical problems through customer interactions, and by providing assistance to less experienced analysts in the design, programming, debugging, testing, and integration/implementation of complex, medium to large-sized automated information technology systems or infrastructure component implementation projects.
- Completely independent. Oversees some cross-functional projects, relied upon to answer complex questions, and perhaps assists with some cross-regional projects. Secondary trainer of new team members.
- Customers may include internal organizations, suppliers, dealers, and/or end users. Responsibilities of the incumbents are along functional lines with individuals assigned development projects, and/or maintenance, of existing mainframe, personal computer, server, Local Area and Wide Area Network, WEB, and/or distributed computing systems and infrastructure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Competent to perform all programming, project management, and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work;
- Acts as team leader for development and support groups; provides programming and application/technical leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members;
- Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls;
- Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems;
- Develops major system modules, programs or integrates infrastructure components based on requirements gathered from customers;
- Performs integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results;
- Performs implementation and integration tasks for medium to large, complex in-house developed systems and/or purchased software solutions;
- Assists customers with documentation, training and usability efforts.
- Integrates processes across functional organizations.
- Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service and tangible outputs. Rely on industry standards, best practices, and qualitative & quantitative data to support and/or refine operations methodologies.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned, including overnight and potential international travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science /IT or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
- At least 5 years in development and support work related to systems or infrastructure.
- At least 5 years of IT experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in current programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems and cross platform infrastructure components; provide training on these topics for others.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
