JOB SUMMARY

The EHS Specialist II ensures that Neovia Employees have access to, and are mentored in, compliant EHS policies across the globe. Incumbents provide support to ensure compliance with applicable standards, laws and regulations.

This is a mid-level job in the EHS Professional series.  Positions at this level possess a specialized, technical or functional expertise within the area of assignment.  Employees are typically assigned significant responsibilities and often exercise independent judgment in the performance of all duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for contributing to the drafting and maintaining of the company’s global EHS policies, ensuring compliance for local standards. EHS policies cover Environment, Health and Safety and Dangerous Goods.
  • Acts as the first point of contact for local EHS leaders, or Plant Managers, who have queries or issues on EHS matters.
  • Oversees and tracks the Facility Self-Assessment program, ensuring all Facilities submit the self-assessment.
  • Reviews facility self-assessments, perform gap analysis and help facilities to create action plan.
  • Assists with Legal Compliance Audits
  • At request of Plants will perform site visits to look at specific issues. Works with Plant Managers and coordinators (if relevant) to analyze and assess highlighted issue and create action plan.
  • Inputs into the design and management of EHS systems (ERS and ESRS) Delivers training for new users.
  • Schedules and performs Legal Compliance Audit
  • Work with the Business Development and Solutions Teams on new business opportunities. Ensures new business proposals are taking into account required EHS policies and law.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of (4) years of (full-time equivalent) verifiable EHS program experience.
  • A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in environmental planning, environmental studies, safety engineering, industrial engineering, industrial hygiene, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is primarily sedentary. Sits comfortably to do the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, or lifting item weighing up to 15 pounds.
